Schecter Guitar Research
Schecter Guitar Research was founded in 1976 as a small guitar repair store in California, that offered replacement bodies and necks, as well as hardware and pickups. However Schecter did not offer a complete finished guitar until 1979.
During the 1980’s such artists as Mark Knopfler, Pete Townsend and Yngwie Malmsteen played Schecter guitars. In the late Eighties Schecter where bought by a Japanese entrepreneur and now produce many unique guitar models and have gained popularity among metal and rock guitarists.
