Celestion ‘Blackbacks’ are well known as 1970s variations of Greenback speakers. The reason for the change in can colour is lost in the mists of time, but arguably the most celebrated Blackback of all is T1511: the G12M with 55Hz ‘bass cone’. Inextricably linked with players such as Free’s Paul Kossoff, whose famously sweet sustain lasted for miles, T1511 is the very essence of Celestion tone; bringing together punch, sparkle and a midrange you just might not be able to live without.
