LR Baggs HiFi DNA
Acoustic Guitar Bridge Plate Pickup
More Acoustic Detail from a Lightweight Bridge-Plate Pickup System
The Baggs HiFi DNA is an active bridge-plate contact pickup system for steel-string and 12-string acoustic guitars, designed to capture the guitar’s natural dynamics without altering the bridge or saddle. Two lightweight, flexible sensors attach to the bridge plate using a peel-and-stick installation, with a supplied mounting jig helping position them correctly.
Rather than sending both sensors through the same preamp stage, the HiFi DNA processes the bass and treble sensors separately. Each has its own all-discrete Class-A FET preamp and EQ contour before the signals are combined, allowing each side of the guitar to be processed independently before reaching the final output. The more flexible sensors also increase sensitivity, helping subtle changes in attack and dynamics come through more clearly.
Volume and Tone controls mount discreetly at the soundhole, while a 9V battery provides more than 260 hours of operation. The system includes the pre-wired pickup assembly, mounting jig, extra adhesives and wire clips. Professional installation is required, and the system is not recommended for nylon-string guitars.
