Recorded using a unique, precision robot at the Yamaha Studios in Los Angeles, Verve was created with one purpose in mind, to be a sonic masterpiece. Give it a completely new feel by layering with additional textures and creating previously unheard sounds. Verve is not just a piano; it is emotions and stories.

Fast and intuitive
The easy-to-use interface means you can instantly create new sounds, quickly blending the moody, contemplative piano sound and pristine texture to create infused, shape-shifting melodies. The additional Variation and Contour parameters help to shape the nuances of the felt piano with motion in the texture section.

Felt piano
Shape the sound of the Verve felt piano. Make it sound softer or harder, add a little compression, reverb or change the pitch. Change the sound of the attack when hitting the keys and the release, when letting them go, and add pedal noise.

Sustain resonance
Sustain resonance is the sound when the damping felts are lifted off the strings, meaning all the strings continue to vibrate a little due to the fact there is nothing preventing them from doing so. You can shape the sound of Verve even more with its editable sustain level and, thanks to it being recorded with the help of a precision robotic arm, you can decide how much of this natural sustain you want in your final piano sound.

One knob compression
One knob, endless possibilities. The “one-knob” compression comes in handy to make the piano sound tighter and more compressed or a little looser. It’s up to you.

Texture layer
A unique toolkit for remarkable timbres. Add multiple additional textures to the felt piano layer from symphonic strings, iconic analog synths, electronic field recordings, dry ice, glass, and samples manipulated by granular synthesis.

Presets
Every module of Verve comes with its own inspiring delay presets. You can either add delay to the piano, to the textures or to both. And, if that is not enough, you can also mix in a customizable reverb to give your Verve felt piano a truly unique sound.

Made for DAWs
Verve is made for DAWs, which means it comes with a minimal set of effects, giving you the freedom to shape the tone and textures afterward.

Recording Verve: A brand new experience
Verve was recorded at the Yamaha Studios in Los Angeles by the HALion team and Yamaha’s sound design team. To capture the sound of the felt piano with the highest possible precision, they used a brand-new, bespoke-handcrafted one-finger robot. This engineering masterpiece has captured the velocity of each key with the highest accuracy and repeatability—which translates into a previously impossible, unique playing experience.

The textures
The goal was to create textures that intensified the feelings created by the felt piano. They sit perfectly with the piano's timbres, creating a beautiful symbiosis between the two. You can let the notes lie, and the textures immerse you with their unique atmosphere. Made from a wide variety of materials and sources: metal, glass, dry ice, electronic devices recorded through electromagnetic pickups, orchestral strings, and more, the carefully crafted textures come with 66 presets.
