TV Jones Classic Neck Pickup
The pickup that started it all - the TV Classic captures that vintage twang and growl characteristic of the late 1950's Filter'Tron. Originally designed from an analyzed 1959 "Pat. Applied For" Filter'Tron, the TV Classic is our most popular and most versatile pickup. Popularized and played by many different artists ranging from John Mayer to Brian Setzer.

Tone/Characteristics
Between a typical Fender (bright single-coil) & Gibson (darker & thick humbucker) with a unique growl when you dig in. Clean, compressed treble and mids breath life over a tight and controlled low-end. 

Installation
The Universal Mount is a direct drop-in replacement for guitars with standard sized Filter'Trons - with and without "ears" or "clips". This pickup comes standard with two pieces of compression rubber, 2 mounting (wood) screws, and 1 Universal Mount Clip Pack - which includes everything you will need to mount the pickups to a TV Jones ring or pickguard. 

The Universal Mount can be installed two different ways:

• As a direct drop-in replacement for guitars with standard sized Filter'Trons – use wood screws and compression rubber

• As a replacement for a humbucker mount pickup – attach clips before installing pickup to ring or pickguard

Wiring Notes
This pickup is shipped with 4-conductor wire but is ready for standard 2-conductor connection. The extra red and green wires come soldered together and taped off - to split coils, send these to ground.

Splitting coils is generally not recommended for this pickup due to low coil output but some say it works well to their taste. 4-Conductor wire is also convenient for custom switching i.e. pickups combined in series or parallel.

TV Jones Classic Plus Bridge Pickup
This bigger, badder, older sibling to the TV Classic is a bridge position only pickup that packs a mighty punch. Using thinner gauge wire, it saturates quicker with punchy mids but keeps that "Classic" Filter'Tron vibe.

Tone/Characteristics
Like a TV Classic but with more attitude, the TV Classic Plus is wound with thinner gauge wire providing a slightly rounder top-end and a touch more output. Many players wish for a Filter'Tron that has "more" to it's sound...this pickup fills that need very well. Installing the TV Classic Plus with a Super'Tron paves the way for some serious Chet Atkins glory (check out his '59 Country Gentleman) but is also a wonderful combination that brings out some of the best sounds in our line (and secretly one of TV's favorite combinations).
