Inside, the circuit design and component choices remain completely unchanged from the original Centavo, preserving the same authentic signal path responsible for its lauded boost and overdriven tones. Centavo Mod delivers the true-to-original sound, response, and playing experience of the Centavo in a significantly smaller footprint with top-mounted jacks, making it easier than ever to add legendary overdrive tones to even the most crowded pedalboards.

  While the Centavo Mod has a pedalboard-friendly enclosure and top-mounted jacks, the internal circuit is true to the vintage pedal design and uses the same exact components as the full-sized Centavo with the true-to-original enclosure.

  The Centavo Mod has three simple controls on the front panel - gain, treble, and output, just like the original. The pedalboard-friendly version of the Centavo also has a MOD switch on the back panel, extending low end response to get that desirable “throaty” sound on the lower strings.

  To achieve the true-to-original overdrive tone, Centavo Mod uses carefully selected components including TL072 op amps and premium diodes that deliver those signature clean boost, edge-of breakup, and hard clipping sounds.

Whether you’re after the fabled boost tones, edge-of-breakup overdrive, or you want to push your rhythm channel to true grit, Centavo Mod’s controls take you from tone sweetener all the way to saturated gain. The slimmed-down Centavo is comfortable acting as a boost pedal, but the saturation in the higher gain settings provide a platform for true “transparent” overdriven rhythm tones. Like the full-sized Centavo, Centavo Mod retains the rear-panel “MOD” switch, famously requested by Jeff Beck on the original pedal. This control extends the bass response for added low-end drive and weight on the lower strings.. 100% of the features, components, and circuit integrity of the original Centavo is preserved in the smaller version for those who want the true-to-vintage experience without the vintage size.

The custom-cast enclosure is designed to deliver the accurate aesthetic of the original in a compact format. Custom-tapered oxblood knobs, including the dual-concentric gain knob ensures that Centavo Mod not only sounds like the original, but feels like the original as well.
